Tips, Tricks, Recommendations, and my personal go to's for before and after your wax!
Before your wax!
Grow your hair to the length of a grain of white rice, (if the hair is too short the wax will not grab the hair).
Exfoliate 24hrs prior to waxing to expose any ingrown hairs.
Let me know if you are taking any medications or using any facial products that contain retinol.
Take ibuprofen 30 minuets before appointment (this is recommended for bikini waxes and first time waxers doing large services).
Drink lots of water both before your wax and all the time. You are 70% water and should be drinking a minimum of half your body weight in ounces of water a day.
Let me know if you have any questions about your skin, on top of being a waxer I am a licensed esthetician.
Do not tan 24hrs before your wax it drys you out and makes your skin much more likely to lift. We also cannot wax over a burn.
Do not use any retinol on the area for 1-3 weeks prior or take the prescription drug Accutane 6 months prior.
Do not drink coffee or alcohol before your appointment.
Do not shave for a minimum for 2 weeks prior to waxing appointment (hair should be about the length of a grain of white rice) no need to trim if you are over grown either.
Do not do any harsh skin treatments like chemical peals, micro dermabrasion, dermabrasion ect..
After your wax!
Do not exfoliate 24 hours after waxing, the skin in sensitive and its not necessary. because we just removed all of the dead stuff!
Do not work out or sweat vigorously for 24 hours after your wax if possible, this reduces your chance of after wax breakouts and infected ingrown hairs.
Do not tan 24-48 hours after your wax, you are more easily burnt.
Do not shave in between waxes, it basically makes waxing pointless, thickening the hairs and messing with the growth cycles!
Do not do any harsh skin treatments 48 hours after waxing, like chemical peals, micro dermabrasion, dermabrasion ect..
Avoid lace underwear and fabrics that irritate the skin. To get 20% off my favorite brand click here!
